He started in business by walking to the countryside and buy up old "Friesian" clocks.
He would walk back to his workshop with 2 clocks on his shoulders.
He repaired them and then would sell these clocks.
Later on he own
ed a jewelry store in Breda till he retired, and passed the store on to his son, Sjef.
He liked to tell dirty jokes which the grandkids loved.
Untill his death, he always wore a Bowler hat and wore dress shirts with high collars.
